Frequently Asked Questions

1.  Why can’t I see articles on this site?
SpaceDocs content is for physicians who are registered users.  You can register for free, but you must be a physician. Once you register and your information is validated, you will be able to login and see the articles.

2.  Why isn’t my specialty listed on the drop down menu on the registration page?
We apologize for this inconvenience.  Please email us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , provide your name, phone, email, state and specialty and we will review your request.

3.  Why do I have to register if it’s free anyway?
SpaceDocs helps ensure your online privacy and security by utilizing a two-step registration with a validation process to make sure that dishonest people on the Internet do not infiltrate our site and pose as doctors to other doctors.

4.  What actually pays for this site, if there is no advertising and no fees?
SpaceDocs provides information on topics of interest to physicians. Certain information will always be free to registered physicians while more in-depth services will require a fee, such as teleclass courses, audio programs and individual or company coaching.

5.  What happens if I don’t want to give you my information?
We understand your caution about giving out personal information.  We do not affiliate with any outside companies, so all of your information stays with us and is never shared with any other group.  Our business model is not based on selling your information.  Instead, it is quite the opposite.  Our business model is to give you lots of value upfront and then earn your trust so that you may become interested in our other services.  In this way, we learn what you need instead of “selling” you something.  Plus, you get a solution to your problem that is specific to you.  If you would be more comfortable knowing that other physicians have found value with us, please read our testimonials (link).

6.  Why should I take business advice from a psychologist without a business degree?
Experience matters.  Dr. Damgaard has been the CEO of four very successful companies.  She has also spent over 20 years coaching C-level executives and has worked with over 70 companies in all aspects of business development.  In addition to her psychology degree, Dr. Damgaard completed the extensive Corporate Coach Training Program. 7.  Why should physicians take advice from a non-physician?
A wise proverb says that you can’t be a prophet in your land.  This implies that the one who tells you what you need to do or who points out what you’re doing wrong

(1) can’t see what’s wrong if he is also part of the problem and
(2) won’t be listened to if he has group affiliation, prejudice and politics working against him.

This is why hiring a consultant works for so many situations.  A consultant’s work is laser-focused through observation, not through inundation or immersion.  You may have unclear vision if you spend most of your time down among the rushes.  Another benefit of “prophet” status is that you increase your knowledge of best practice models with first-hand observation of many different ways of doing things.  You can take what’s working in one place and apply it to another place, saving the time and money of having to re-invent the wheel.  Ultimately, if taking non-medical advice from other physicians is already working for you, then you would still seek validation with someone who knows the subject, regardless of his degree.

8.  I like your site but why the funny name?
It’s a play on the term “space dock” and the idea of “docs in (cyber) space” describing who and what we are.  Also, a “dock” implies being secure, while “space” elicits visions of things floating around nebulously.  Together, it implies that while you’re floating around on the Internet, you can find something solid at SpaceDocs.  Also, as our introduction says, it’s a place like a space dock where docs can stop and refuel.  Like the space docks in science fiction, SpaceDocs is also where many different disciplines can come together to learn from each other.
